As an academic center the University of Minnesota Department of Neurosurgery is committed to training the neurosurgeons of tomorrow. This highly-specialized program includes comprehensive clinical training and training in research.

As one of the nation's leading neurological centers, our mission is to translate advances in understanding the nervous system into safe and effective treatment of neurological diseases; by conducting research, developing innovative therapies, and training the next generation of neurosurgeons.

To accomplish this, we combine the academic expertise of the University of Minnesota Medical School, its partnership with University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, and the practice group University of Minnesota Physicians to bring high-level care to all of our patients.
